Advert text – vacancy11184 - Action Fraud Case Manager - Victim Service Team :

An exciting opportunity has become available to work as a Fraud Case Manager providing a bespoke victim care package to Hertfordshire Residents who have fallen victim to Fraud.

The role involves the contacting of victims by telephone or other preferred channel (if indicated by the victim), to offer support, advice, and updates on their crime. 

You will be required to – 

  • Conduct an initial assessment of victim’s needs, determine a care pathway for support and where  appropriate, signpost or refer to available internal / external services.
  • Provide assistance and guidance of Rights under the Victim Code of Practice
  • To identify safeguarding issues or further concerns and escalate to the   appropriate department / officer.
  • Hold overall responsibility for completing accurate, statistical reports for the monthly reporting to the Home Office whilst undertaking a range of administrative duties, some of which may be complex in nature, to support a professional team.
  • Input Action Fraud crimes via data sharing system to ensure all Call for Service crimes are recorded with Action Fraud.
  • Gather and evaluate information to gain accurate understanding of situations, exercising discretion and interrogating corporate systems to gain information and evidence to further investigations.
  • To contribute to the management of investigations by using professional judgement to identify proportionate lines of enquiry or the recording of further disclosed crimes following prescriptive care and support.

The successful candidate will need to be a highly motivated individual, with the ability to work using their own initiative to manage daily demand. The post holder must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and experience of communicating with a diverse range of people including those presenting with complex needs. Experience in delivering high standards of customer service. Proven ability to gather and evaluate information to gain an understanding of situations when dealing with victims in distress or at a time of crisis. 

They will have experience of working within a team to successfully achieve outcomes and objectives, often with minimal supervision, and be able to demonstrate a Prevention First mindset to problem solving in the community by contributing to achieve the Constabularies vision, purpose, and values. 

The successful candidate must be willing engage with outside organisations identifying the suitable care package.
