Do you want to Investigate the most serious crime other than Murder?

Applications are invited from candidates to join Hertfordshire's Sexual Offences Investigation Team for both immediate and projected vacancies within our historic team and on our proactive team. 

This is an ideal opportunity for any candidate who wishes to work within a highly skilled and performing unit - dealing with serious and complex investigations and to specialise in a safeguarding role, which is paramount to any policing career especially those aspiring to join Major Crime Unit, Counter Terrorism and ERSOU within their future careers. 

There will be many opportunities to develop yourself professionally with specialist training provided for the Unit. 

As part of the application process applicants will be required to display

  • Investigative experience at PIP level 2
  • Experience of building cases to meet the full code test for the CPS
  • A working knowledge of Athena case management system desirable

Recruitment and Selection Policy

Police Barred and Advisory Lists

Individuals placed on the Police Barred and Advisory lists will not be considered for employment by the police for a minimum of 5 years from the date of listing in the case of gross misconduct, or 3 years from the date of listing in the case of poor performance.
