An opportunity has arisen in the Organisational Learning Department, within the Inspection and Risk Team.

The Inspection Risk Team portfolio includes Research and Analysis, Inspection, Audit and Risk Management.

The successful candidate’s duties will include:

  • Compiling and carrying out risk-based process audits/internal inspections to assess compliance against internal documentation and national requirements
  • Supporting external inspections with pre-inspection work, ‘lessons learnt’ reports, creating and collating briefing packs and coordinating the inspections
  • Providing support to other areas of the business; including the creation of presentations and documents for Corporate Performance Meetings and bespoke projects.
  • Undertaking high-quality performance analysis using a range of robust statistical and analytical tools and techniques, analysing, comparing and contrasting datasets to determine trends in current and future performance, their significance and possible/probable causes.
  • Working closely with other teams across and outside the force to better understand the Constabulary’s performance and its context.
  • Maintaining an understanding of changes in the internal and external operating environment and their possible implications with regard to compliance and performance.

Accordingly, applicants will find experience of research and analysis an advantage.

We are looking for candidates who possess excellent research and analysis skills. The applicant will be expected to be able to produce reports highlighting areas of good practice and any area where standards may not be satisfactory. This work requires a variety of different tasks, and we are looking for applicants who have the skills and ability to manage large workloads.
