Are you interested in a varied and challenging role at the heart of work across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to tackle serious violence?  Are you passionate about prevention and early intervention to ensure young people stay on the right track away from involvement in crime, be that as perpetrators or victims?  Are you able to understand the bigger picture and work with a wide range of partners to ensure an effective response to prevent violence in our communities?  If so, then we need you to support work to tackle violence and keep our communities safe.

A vacancy has arisen for a new system-wide co-ordination post based in Cambridgeshire Constabulary.  The post will support the implementation of the new Serious Violence Duty in Cambridgeshire.  This duty is designed to ensure a multi-agency approach to understand the causes and consequences of serious violence, focusing on prevention and early intervention.

The role will be varied.  You will be taking the lead on supporting and providing project management for serious violence activity across the partnership.  You will work strategically and tactically with a range of agencies and community organisations to build capacity and support local project development.

You will need to be comfortable balancing competing priorities, against a backdrop of complex partnership working and change.  You will need to be able to translate detailed information against big picture context and local issues. You also need to work professionally and effectively with local stakeholders to maximise a co-ordinated multiagency approach.

You will be part of a supportive Partnerships and Prevention Team who are splitting their time between working from home and from different police offices across the county.  You must be able to travel to the office, and around the county and elsewhere for meetings to meet business need.

The role is full time (37 hours), but flexible working arrangements will be considered.

The role is fixed term, with national funding in place until March 2025.  There may a possibility of extension depending on funding availability at that time.
