Intelligence Analyst - Counter Terrorism Policing East

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary From £33,348 - £37,953

There are currently two Intelligence Analyst vacancies available.

Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) East is part of a national network of regionally based units that coordinate and support counter terrorism investigations across police force borders. CTP East coordinates CT policing across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex, whilst also assisting in the assessment and management of terrorist threats, risks and vulnerabilities across the UK. 

This position is based in central Hertfordshire. The role is primarily office based, with some agile working available.

The Role

What you’ll be doing:

The unit currently has an exciting opportunity for a permanent Intelligence Analyst working within the Analysis and Research team. You will be responsible for:

  • Collating and analysing information from a wide variety of sources including sensitive intelligence
  • Taking ownership of developing strategic intelligence reports assessing threats, risks and vulnerabilities in respect of current issues and emerging trends
  • Producing high quality products in support of regional and national policing requirements
  • Presenting results of analysis both verbally and in written format and taking an active role in briefings
  • Directly supporting intelligence operations and projects in accordance with the CONTEST Strategy and regional and national requirements
  • Working alongside internal and external partners, developing positive working relationships

Eligibility:

This post is designated a ‘reserved post’ under the Civil Service Nationality Rules and is open only to UK Nationals. If you hold dual nationality, one component of which is British, you may also be considered. However, if successful, you may be asked to relinquish your non‐British nationality (and any entitlement you may have to a foreign nationality) as a condition of your confirmation of appointment with CTP. One of your parents should also be British or have substantial ties to the UK. In the latter instance, substantial ties means that your parent is a citizen of a British Overseas Territory, a Commonwealth citizen, US citizen, EEA citizen, British national or citizen overseas, and they would need to have demonstrable connections with the UK by way of family history or have been resident here for a substantial period. 

Vetting:

Due to the sensitivities of the role all applicants are asked to maintain discretion about their application. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Enhanced Security Clearance (SC) vetting prior to taking up the post, leading to Developed Vetting (DV) once in post. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined.

You must have 10 years residency in the UK to pass the vetting process.

Police Barred and Advisory Lists
